This is a great, extremely accurate laser system with absolutely ZERO added bulk to my P229. No more added bulk to the front of the gun and no more limitations to holsters. I have only been using it for about a month but so far no malfunctions. However there is room for some improvements.
The battery cover seems very fragile – it is made of soft plastic. In fact, the first time I performed a field strip after installing the laser guide rod, the battery cover popped off. I thought it broke, but it installed back with no issues.
The item description states it comes with Wolff springs. However, the kit comes with 2 different springs: A "piano" spring for the .40/.357 calibers and a "braided" spring for the 9mm caliber. They have a sticker that instructs "painted end towards battery cap" but the spring is not painted. I contacted LaserMax who confirmed these are new springs that are bi-directional. I do not believe these are Wolff springs. The fit is extremely tight and I thought it would score the laser housing but it has worked fine with no damage whatsoever. No replacement springs are shown in the online catalog but when I need one, I don’t think I’ll have a problem although I will probably have to contact them.
They have been quick to respond to email inquiries.
Last thing I can offer is that if you use a 22LR kit, DO NOT install the 22LR slide with the LaserMax takedown lever!
I forgot about the modified lever and it was a nightmare to take off the 22LR slide. After trying for about an hour, I was trying to contact SIG to send the pistol in for repair when by some miracle, I managed to take it off. The 22LR slide catches on the modified TD lever.
One extra step to switch between slides but it’s a pretty quick job.

Arrived on schedule, very easy and straightforward to install. Love the way it doesn’t alter the profile of my pistol. Only used it once at the range, but appears to be slightly off (down and to the left) from my iron sights, which are spot on. I can compensate for it, but expected it to be more accurate given specs. Other than that, incredibly easy to see, quite bright and blinking mode does help. Perfect for low light conditions. Very satisfied purchase. Can’t comment on battery life yet.

Decades after introduction there is still no real competition if you want laser sights on your pistol without adding bulk and weight Instructions could be better; I had to call tech support to learn about their switch to a default ‘flicker mode’ (The solution is to rack the slide 4-5 times)

Product is excellent when working, but after using it for two sessions it started malfunctioning, and both the .pdf and link to have a return/repair form sent to begin processing also do not work.

Since I already had a Sig Red Guide Rod Laser, I was familiar with the ease of installation of this product. The green laser offered very good overall performance especially in higher light conditions. I’d recommend this product versus an externally mounted device however, it comes down to personal preference.

It was great the last time I was able to use it, which was about 4 years ago. I’ve been waiting for replacement parts to become available since then.
There’s a tiny spring in the battery cap that is necessary for the laser to function. It fell out while I was changing the battery one day and I was never able to find it. I figured I’d just order a new battery cap… As I said, that was 4 years ago and I’ve been on the “notify when back in stock” list since.

So far so good. Haven’t been to the range however in looking over this thing I am quite impressed with the workmanship and design. I think it shall solve my needs just fine.
Thanks

Absolutely perfect you don’t have to zero it in. It’s compact neat you don’t have to buy a new holster to accommodate it. The batteries last for a long time only positive five star review I have.

Overall I like the laser but it doesn’t always work. I recently had to have the takedown lever replaced because it wasn’t making contact and the staff at lasermax was very helpful by sending me a replacement at no cost for that I’m grateful but it too is temperamental and doesn’t always work when it comes out of the holster.

Awesome product and reasonably priced value!
I had to replace a previous red laser guide rod for my Sig because I let the batteries run down and they started to leak acid and fused batteries in the rod. I ruined the locking lugs trying to get the batteries out…bummed, but very happy with the new green laser! I would recommend these guide rod laser to anyone interested increased accuracy and quick target acquisition. My Sig is over 20 years old, shoots beautifully and is my only carry. I shoot well already, but this only makes me more accurate and faster. LOVE IT!! Get One to Get Some!!

So easy to install, batteries seem to last forever, and works great. I have poor vision and this is wonderful. The green seems to help more than the red, but the red works fine. These are rods in my Sig p229. Next, I will try a trigger guard laser for my Sig p238. Thank you for your kindness. You have always been very helpful.

Not pleased. I installed one on my Beretta M9 and it is spot on. This one in my Sig shoots WAY low.

For a P229;
I have to say Im new to this and it took some understanding the spring rotation could make fine target corrections.. this laser is spot on, just phenomenal to me how accurate it is. Its just a solid addition to my edc without any modifications or additional cost to integrate it into my carry.
In a word its .. Sweet!!

ed when i pick up the weapon. i have
a red lasermax in my sig p228. it came
on uncommanded & finally depleted the battery. i ordered a new unit & replaced. now it points 8 o’clock, 8” off

The order was shipped and received in a timely manner. I found it easy to install and operate. It was as advertised and just what I expected, great. It is nice to have a laser without having to have a special holster. When working, I ordered one (LMS-2201) and used it on my service weapon up until my retirement. I still have the weapon and the device works now as it did in 2003. The laser guide rode is an awesome device and well worth the expense.
