NewsLaserMax to Manufacture and Represent Colt CGL Fore Grip Laser SystemFebruary 1, 2008
Rochester, NY (February 1, 2008) LaserMax is pleased to announce that it is the exclusive manufacturer of the new Colt CGL-R/L fore grip laser systems for black rifles. The Colt CGL-R/L is a compact, rugged, versatile fore grip with integrated red aiming laser and traveling light that attaches to the M1913 rail mount system. The grip laser can be used interchangeably on several different platforms, simply by moving the grip from one weapon to another and re-zeroing. The innovative Colt CGL enhances the functionality of the black rifle fore grip. The operator can select either traveling light or laser as needed. The traveling light allows the operator to navigate stairs and avoid obstacles without giving away his presence. The operator can activate the traveling light with a light squeeze of the switch, or activate it to stay on with a full squeeze. A second squeeze deactivates. Operation of the laser is similar. The momentary activation of the laser can be used for signaling or rapid targeting. Clicking the laser on allows for sustained targeting. The operator can choose between Hi-Vis pulsating mode or continuous on. The unit takes two AA batteries with a battery life of 60 hours (Hi-Vis pulsating) or 30 hours (continuous on). The Colt CGL-R/L is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product and is available to civilians in addition to law enforcement, military and international customers. LaserMax is the exclusive sales representative for the Colt CGL for non-government agency customers (individuals only, no government agency or reseller sales). Individuals can purchase the Colt CGL-R/L beginning in May 2008 over the LaserMax website (www.lasermax.com) for the retail price of $399.00.
